江西省冶金工业遵循党中央改革、开放、搞活的方针,根据我省冶金工业点多分散,相互衔接,相互依存的特点,同时考虑到本省有色金属和钢铁工业需要相互支持、相得益彰的实际情况,从提高综合经济效益出发,经省委、省政府批准于1983年6月将省属冶金企业组成江西省冶金工业公司,1984年又批准公司为经济实体,明确规定:公司所属企业实行供、产、销、人、财、物统一管理。
