首先对我国唐代时期陶瓷品类中出现了的绞胎器究竟是如何形成的论述与观点进行质疑,否定了关于绞胎器模仿漆器和瘿器以及拉坯成型的观点。进而通过对绞胎器特征和绞胎工艺的形成原理、制作方法的解析,对西方玻璃融合技术的应用、工艺特征、制作方法以及与绞胎的比较,加之以西亚出土的绞胎陶器为证据,指出西亚绞胎陶是受到玻璃工艺的影响,唐代绞胎工艺应该源于西方玻璃融合技术。
