It was found that the water-soluble component of the 35% ethanol extract of honeysuckle has a significant preventive activity against allergic reactions, and one of the active ingredients is chlorogenic acid. The mechanism of action of honeysuckle is to inhibit the expression of iNOS, COX-2 and inhibit platelet aggregation by inhibiting TXA2.
