In the process of secondary forest rebuilding, the technique of massive afforestation was applied to the forest gaps of different sizes formed in the forest, which achieved good results. The use of this technology not only makes the objective species of Pinus koraiensis growth and development rapidly, but also promotes the growth of surrounding secondary trees, but also changes the species, density and coverage of herbs significantly. In this paper, we study on this issue and consider that light is one of the key factors that affect the growth and distribution of herbaceous plants. Gaps are of great importance to promote the development of herbaceous plants and enhance species diversity
