The Sixth Congress of the Third World Academy of Sciences was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from September 7 to 11, 1997. Professor Chen Xuejun, deputy director of Shaanxi Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee and Xi'an Jiaotong University was elected as the member of the Third World Academy of Sciences.
