“Essay Error Correction” is a new type that began to be adopted in 1991 with the introduction of NMET. This type of question immediately received the attention of the majority of teachers and students. Recently, I have often heard some comrades in secondary schools disagree with this type of question and wish to abolish them from the English-language papers for examination. The specific reasons are as follows: (1) It is difficult for this type of question to effectively test the comprehensive utilization of students in discourse
