广西老年大学成立于1986年12月。学校创办之初,条件十分艰苦,无教学场地、设备、无经费,无人员编制,参加学校筹建工作的同志均是从各有关单位借调来的,学校办公室设在自治区老干部局,上课则到区科技馆租用教室。由于条件所限,当时学校仅开设了书法、国画、文学等几个专业,300名学员。虽然规模不大,办学条件艰苦,但老师们发扬奉献精神,认真教学,学员们勤奋学习,师生关系融
Guangxi old university was established in December 1986. When the school was founded, the conditions were very harsh. Comrades without teaching space, equipment, no funds, no staff members and who participated in the preparatory work for the school were all from the relevant agencies. The office of the school was set up in the veteran bureau of the autonomous region and the class went to the district Science and Technology Museum leased classrooms. Due to the limited conditions, only a few schools of calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting and literature were set up in the school at that time, with 300 trainees.
