BP公司和其它油公司已经在巴布亚褶皱带上从事了70年的勘探找油工作。根据最早的勘探活动,已经证明上升到地表的宽阔背斜是深部类似构造的表征。地质野外工作确定地表构造,通过外推到深处产生地下的横剖面。这种方法已经成为褶皱带勘探的范例。它使得钻探井获得重大成功。
BP and other oil companies have been engaged in exploration and oil discovery for 70 years on the fold belt of Papua New Guinea. According to the earliest exploration activities, the broad anticline rising to the surface has been characterized as a deep similar structure. Geological field work to determine the surface structure, by extrapolating to the depth of the underground cross-section. This method has become an example of fold belt exploration. It made a big success in drilling wells.
