连南瑶族自治县老区板洞小学是因兴建板洞水库随移民迁移到县办牛塘林场的,学生一直在破旧的木板房就读。2004年初,省老促会安排了危房改造资金30万元。在学生较少的情况下,经清远市老促会同意,决定用10万元装修林场小学校舍,解决低年级学生就读问题;其余20万元转向离场最近但仍有9.5公里远的白水坑小学改建,以便三年级以上小学生就读。
