刘格平同志与世长辞了,时间虽已逝去两个多月,但我们却一直处在万分悲痛和怀念、感慨之中!刘格平同志本打算到西北五省视察,且已经全国政协领导同志同意并关怀地嘱咐“年事已高,要量力而行,可到宁夏、甘肃看看,如精力允许就再到内蒙。”他已做好于1991年9月动身的准备。临行前去医院检查身体,因感冒和便秘而住院料理。不曾想在灌肠后出现大出血,从此一病不起,不幸于1992年3月11日上午10时溘然长逝。噩耗传来,令人万分悲痛和惋惜,他在病中还一直念念不忘的西北之行竞成未竟之心愿。他的逝世,使我们失去了一位久经考验的共产主义杰出战士,一位回族的革命先哲和我党卓越的民族工作领导者,一位良师和益友!回顾他71年的革命征程,对他坚定的共产主义信念,高度的无产阶级革命觉悟和一个共产党员的坚强党性,对党无限忠诚、严格遵守党的纪律,在任何情况下都爱憎分明,立场坚定,坚韧不拔、顽强斗争,宁死不屈、铁骨铮铮,作为一个共产党员宁可坐穿牢底把自己的生死荣辱却置于度外的大无畏英雄气慨深感无限的敬仰和钦佩!
