Objective To observe the relationship between the exercise and the expression of heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) and to analyze the factors influencing the expression of heat shock protein 70 (HSP70). Methods During an exercise, 137 officers and soldiers participating in the exercise were selected as the exercise group and 50 officers and soldiers of the exercise group were selected as the control group. Questionnaire general situation and psychological stress conditions, body measurements and blood lactate determination, Western blotting method was used to detect the expression of HSP70 in peripheral blood lymphocytes. The t-test was used to compare between groups, and multivariate linear regression analysis was used to investigate the related factors. Results Compared with the control group, the HSP70 levels in the peripheral blood lymphocytes of the exercise group were significantly increased (0.39 ± 0.06 vs 0.60 ± 0.09, P <0.01). The expression of HSP70 in the exercise group was significantly correlated with age, education level, family size, smoking, (P <0.05, P <0.01), body mass index (BMI), systolic blood pressure, white blood cell count (WBC), red blood cell count (RBC), hemoglobin (P> 0.05). Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that blood lactate, psychological stress and education level were the most significant factors affecting the expression of HSP70. Conclusion The expression level of HSP70 in the peripheral blood lymphocytes of the drills increased, which was related to the blood lactate, the self-assessment score of psychological stress status and education level.
