英语是世界性语言,它具有极高的语言应用价值,也是现代高校学习中最为重要的课程。在进行英语语言学习过程中,需要深入发掘英语语言的特点以及不同语言的差异性,并能融入到语言所在国的生活情境氛围中。现在各高校英语专业均开设英美文学选读课程,这成为了解英语文化内涵、民族风情以及时代气息的理想媒介。英语本身是工具性语言,借助于英美文学选读能够从生活以及实践应用范畴中更好的学习英语,显著提升英语学习的兴趣、效率和质量。在此基础上将所学的英语技能反馈于日常生活、学习和工作的环节中,最终达到英语语言学以致用的效果。
