Three-dimensional seismic imaging in oil producing areas is becoming an increasingly valuable tool in reservoir management. For smaller areas, imaging with VSP data in the well is a secondary high-resolution tool. Ideally, one would like to use 3D VSP technology to detail well-side imaging, and 3D VSP technology is under development. However, a cheaper method is to explain the multi-faceted VSP data workstation. This method has some advantages for some special problems because it has no problems with the construction environment, low cost, short acquisition period relative to ground observation, rapid processing, and can be reused in reservoirs. It should be used to determine the optimal well location, optimize reservoir characteristics in a particular area, monitor fluid movements and reduce the investment risk in new production facilities.
