黑杨引入我国30多年来,使我国成为世界上杨树人工林面积最大的国家。位于安徽省西北部的涡阳县,自20世纪70年代,矢志不移地发展平原林业,充分发挥皖北地区光热水土资源优势,建设了以黑杨新品种为基础、杨树加工利用为龙头的黑杨产业。如今的涡阳大地郁郁葱葱,杨树防护林纵横交错,绵延数百公里,道路绿树成荫,一望无际。杨树有林地面积达50余万亩,活立木蓄积量达236万立方米。但是,据林业技术人员调查和一些农民反映,现在杨树不如早些年长得快了。

Poplar has a forest area of more than 50 acres, living stock volume of 2360000 cubic meters. However, according to a survey of forestry technicians and some farmers, poplar trees are now getting older sooner rather than later.
