Using the time-resolved technique, the radiation life of the iodine molecule E band E2 ion state (18≤V≤21) is given. The values change between 9.52 and 8.74 ns (J = 108) and 8.22 to 7.86 ns (J = 106). The small absolute errors in the mathematical models for the lifetime of these radiation states indicate that the E2 state Strong g / u transitions may exist, which helps to characterize the experimental results
