《老子》一书不仅思考世界的起源、万物的根基,更是在这种思考当中,体现出了雌性、母性的特点,具有一种区别于其他早期中国哲学的女性气质,这从根源上受到了生殖崇拜观念的影响。老子哲学的女性气质在其论“道”的过程中有所展现,并且以对偶性因素展现出了“阴阳”之意的和谐共生。老子哲学不仅具有较强的母性关怀的气质,并且从形而上的角度为现实女性的生活状况提供了哲学依据。老子哲学的阴性特质明显区别于以孔子为代表的儒家阳刚哲学的气质,两者具有很强的对比性,却又殊途同归,都是阴阳和谐不可缺少的一部分。老子哲学的女性气质乃是中华民族精神中宽宏善韧的哲学根基,不可或缺。
