为了进一步加强对我航海学会系统科技期刊的管理,提高办刊质量,以求达到为航运事业服务的目的,经过筹备并广泛征求各地区学会和学会各专业委员会的意见,编辑工作座谈会于1995年6月28～30日在扬州召开.这次座谈会,是在中共中央国务院发出《关于加强科学普及工作的若干意见》、《关于加速科学技术进步的决定》和全国科技大会精神的鼓舞下召开的、凡办有期刊的地区学会和中国航海学会专业委员会、研究分会、期刊编辑部共32名代表出席了这次会议,不少单位还带来了书面材料,在会上进行交流.交通部体制法规司新闻处李维双处长、中国航海学会杨大年顾问和江苏省航海学会、江苏省交通厅航道管理局、交通局的领导到会进行指导.通过座谈,大会认为这次会开得很好,并强调指出当今的任务应是:
