1622-1625 The painting 394cm x 295cm is now in its 21 pieces in The Louvre, Paris, “The Life Of Mary Medicis,” the fifth of which is the “Wedding between Mary Medici and Henry IV”. Queen Mary is on the left side of the painting surrounded by Italian court waiters. The back of her drag-to-damask dress was carried by an angelic little girl, whose colors represented the texture of the dress. Behind Mary was a family representative who held up a cross-scepter to show that it was an aristocratic courtroom, and that the cross-scepter brought the viewer’s attention to the Crown on Mary’s head.
