白藤(Calamus tetradactylus Hance)茎具节与节间,由保护系统、基本系统和维管系统组成。纤维维管束属于闭合性的外韧型,散生于基本组织中,为散生中柱。纤维维管束的分布:茎外缘有一层缺输导束的纤维束及1—2层输导束较不发达的纤维维管束,往内直至中心部的纤维维管束没有明显差别,通常呈大小不等的扇形或菱形。处于茎基段、中段和梢段三部分的纤维维管束,其数量与结构均差别不大。在藤皮(茎的外缘部分)中的纤维维管束粗度较小,密度较大,纤维束与输导束的比例较大而纤维细胞的长宽比则较小,但纤维细胞长度则与藤心部(中间部分)的差异不大。这些结构与藤皮具有较优良的坚韧性有关。茎节部与节间的纤维维管束相比,除茎节最外缘的纤维束数目多1—2层,通入叶鞘部分的纤维维管束体形较大,结构较独特外,没有其他明显的差别;但纤维细胞与孔纹导管分子的长度则很短,这些结构是节部性质比较坚硬而易脆断的解剖特征。多种棕榈科藤本植物的茎,是运铺、建筑、农具、家具和工艺品的编织原材料。这些植物盛产于热带、亚热带;在我国则以广东海南岛和云南西双版纳所产的种类和数量最多。不同种类的藤茎,其质地差异较大,而在同一种类的同一条藤茎中,因其所处的部位不同,质地也有所差异。为了探索不同种类藤茎的结构以及结构与材性的关系,从形态解剖学方面提供分类与鉴别藤茎质地优劣的依据,实属必要。近些年来,作者已着手对国产棕榈科藤本植物茎进行解剖研究,现仅将白藤茎的解剖观察结果作简要介绍。
