作者有话说这是一个真实的故事:大学教授上野秀三郎收留了秋田犬八公,把它当成自己的孩子一样宠爱。可是有一天,教授突然去世了,八公由他的朋友代为收养。但八公常常逃出来,一次又一次跑到车站去寻找教授。这样的日子持续了九年多,直到八公因为癌症去世。人们把这个故事拍成了电影《忠犬八公物语》(1987,日本)和《忠犬八公的故事》(2009,美国),感动了无数人。后来,我又把这个故事写成了书,希望大家能在这个故事中感受到爱和矢志不渝的忠诚。
The author has a saying that this is a true story: University professor Ueno Hideaburo retained the Akita dog eight, as petting as their own children. But one day, the professor suddenly died, eight public adoption by his friend. However, eight often escaped from time to time, went to the station again and again to find professors. This day lasted for more than nine years until eight years because of cancer death. People made the story into a movie “Hachiko Dog Story” (1987, Japan) and “Hachiko Story” (2009, the United States), touched countless people. Later, I wrote this story again, hoping that everyone could feel the love and unshakable loyalty in this story.
