中国声学学会荣誉会士、著名声学家白瑞纳克(Leo Leroy Beranek)博士,因病于2016年10月10日在美国马萨诸塞州韦斯特伍德镇家中午后小睡中逝世,享年102岁。白瑞纳克博士是中国声学界的老朋友,为推进中美声学交流做出了杰出的贡献,也因此在2012年被中国声学学会授予荣誉会士称号。白瑞纳克博士与《声学学报》创刊人马大猷先生同学,建立了近八十年的深厚友谊。(详见《声学学报》2015年第40卷第2期第338-341页)。
The honorary member of the Chinese Acoustics Society, renowned acousticist Dr. Leo Leroy Beranek, died of noon after a noon nap at the Westwood town of Massachusetts in the United States on October 10, 2016 at the age of 102. Dr. Bai Reynak is an old friend of the Chinese acoustic community and made an outstanding contribution to the promotion of Sino-American acoustics exchanges. As a result, Dr. Bai Ruainake was honored as Honorary Member by the Chinese Society of Acoustics in 2012. Dr. Bai Ruinake and Mr. Ma Dayu, the founder of the “Acoustics Journal”, established a profound friendship for nearly 80 years. (See Acoustics, Vol. 40, No. 2, pp. 338-341 for more details).
