五里长桥西畔,福(州)厦(门)公路以东,著名的南安侨乡水头镇埕边村,有一座独享盛名、誉满泉南的双灵寺。它始建于嘉庆七年(1802年),供奉高家姐妹榜娘和瓜娘两尊肉身佛。高家两姐妹以善举济世,以灵感悟道,乡人为净化人心、弘扬美德,乃以其坐化成佛之肉身粉塑而成,建寺祀奉。据载,高家两姐妹出生在一个贫苦农家,榜娘生于清乾隆辛丑年(1781年)农历六月十四日,瓜娘生于清乾隆癸卯年(1783年)农历十二月二十七日。小姐妹降生时,祥云绕梁,满室飘香,似闻空中鼓乐之声。姐妹俩自幼婴便厌荤,尝荤食则呕吐,只好素食养生。家中已有四兄二姐,一家十余口,
