The mechanical properties of epichlorohydrin rubber, propylene oxide rubber and carbon chain rubber (nitrile rubber, neoprene) are described in this paper. It shows excellent performance of epichlorohydrin rubber under severe working conditions (such as oil, natural gas exploitation, high-content HzS gas medium, etc.). Thermoplastic elastomers of copolymers of epichlorohydrin and propylene oxide have been used in the cable industry. Low-molecular-weight epichlorohydrin rubber has been successfully used as an adhesive and sealant in the insulation of oil storage tanks and oil pipelines.
