说起黄梅戏,人们就会想到《天仙配》、《女驸马》,严凤英、王少舫。一代宗师严凤英是安徽桐城籍自幼深受家乡黄梅戏的熏陶而走上黄梅戏艺术生涯的。表演艺术家南京藉的王少舫则是自幼生长在京剧世家从师学唱京剧并有一定名气之后才走上黄梅戏艺术生涯的。凤英同志长我八岁,十年浩劫中她含冤于九泉了(1930—1968),少舫老师(1920—1986)是我的父辈,也于十年前作古了。他们在世时我都与他们较长期地合作过,受益于他们颇多。特别是少舫老师,因为我十一岁正式学唱了黄梅戏,后来又曾拜少舫先生的夫人雪寒梅为我的基训和身段老师。因为我出生在黄梅戏世家,母亲丁翠霞是黄梅戏较早的女演员之一,外祖父丁永泉(艺名丁老六)又是黄梅戏著名艺人,我的两位舅舅舅妈也
