Based on the related theories of cultural shift and critical discourse analysis in translation studies, this article interprets translation as a cross-discourse practice. That is to say, translation transforms the source discourse into another social, cultural and political context, To produce the target discourse behavior. From this perspective, we highlight the contact and interaction of different sources of ideology in translation and the translator’s cultural and political tasks. This requires the translator to carry out an analysis of the critical discourse oriented to translation in the process of the original text comprehension, and then prepare the translated text. Finally, the article proposes three translation strategies to deal with the production of corresponding translations: non-critical translation, neutral translation and radical translation. The latter two can be collectively referred to as critical translation.
