惠安县常年种植甘薯30万亩左右.1986年秋,我县在4个乡试种稻头薯沟边间作36.7亩玉米获得成功,单产114公斤.1987年春,又利用早薯沟底间作玉米163亩,单产158.5公斤.秋季,利用稻头薯及花生薯间作玉米12,528亩,单产52.82公斤.同年6月30日,市政府组织各县有关部门现场参观,肯定了间套种是增产粮食的有效途径.甘薯间作玉米值得推广.
