On the Rites of the Guanju Songs and Dances

Guanju songs and dances come from the “Jujiu dance”and are transformed into the tribal spatial form of the Rites of Zhou,forming the living art of The Book of Songs.According to literature and documents of the system of rites and music of the Zhou Dynasty,Guanju came into being during the period when the Zhou Dynasty ruled the region of Shaan.“Guanju”originally means the recreation of the dance of the osprey and dove according to the rites. As the first poem in The Book of Songs,Guanju shows the folk custom of dancing to songs.
