金秋梨是由著名科学家袁隆平的助手黄渊基等人培育出来的新品种,被誉为“南方梨中之王”。金秋梨自1990年正式立项研究,1998年2月正式通过湖南省农作物品种审定委员会的鉴定。从8年来的研究试验表明:金秋梨结果早,一般栽后2年挂果;丰产稳产,一般三年生树平均株产果17.5千克,最高株产果61.2千克,每667米~2产量3895千克;晚熟,3月上旬开花,9月上旬至下旬成熟,正值水果淡季,市场俏销,售价比普通品种高出1～2倍;果色美、品质佳,平均单果重371克,肉质纯白,脆甜汁
