V.Bjerknes 教授係英皇家学会外籍会员及皇家气象学会荣誉会员,西蒙氏奖章持有者,可说是气象学者中的杰出人才,惜于1951年4月9日在挪威 Oslo 逝世了。他生于1862年3月14日是 C.A.Bjerknes 教授(Christiania 大学数学教授且为研究开于流体力学及其实验方面的创始人)的儿子。当他在 Christiania 读书的时候会帮助过他父亲作些关于流体力学的研究,后來又到德国从 Herz 作研究工作。 他对于固体物移动于环行液体內之远距离作用与电动学方面之相似点,尤感兴趣。18(?)3年他被任为瑞典 Stockholm 大学力学兼数学物理教授,他就开始准备着最初的重要工作关
Professor V.Bjerknes is a foreign member of the Royal Society and an Honorary Member of the Royal Meteorological Society, a holder of the Simon Medal, who is an outstanding meteorologist who unfortunately died on April 9, 1951 in Oslo, Norway. Born on March 14, 1862, he was the son of C.A.Bjerknes, a professor of mathematics at Christiania University and the founder of a study on fluid dynamics and its experiments. When he was in Christiania, he helped his father study hydrodynamics and later went to Germany to do research from Herz.
