边疆地区教育质量之落后,是内地人无法想象的。据调查,65％的边防军人后代考不上高中,96％的边防军子弟不知大学校门朝何处开。云南省军区原司令员王祖训有3个儿子,但却没有一个考上高中。老王多年来一直辗转边防和战区,等他调到昆明,肩上佩上金闪闪的将星时,儿子却“落伍”了……有些孩子的父母在边疆一干就是10年、20年,甚至30年,血汗洒在疆土上。他们被评为“老边防”、“老边疆”、“优秀共产党员”……为边疆做出奉献的仅仅是他们吗?他们的家属子女呢?
