After the end of World War I, all countries have accelerated the pace of developing their air power, but they can not but deviate in direction. In the 1930s and early 1940s, there was a wave of research and development of “heavy fighter jets” aimed at not only protecting one’s own bomber for long-range air strikes but also intercepting the enemy bomber that was committed and conducting ground-based attacks Mission, one of the most representative of Germany’s Bf 110. However, later experience shows that such “multi-faceted hands” are often hard-pressed, and in the United States there is no shortage of examples.
