在他所著的《奥林匹克大逆转》一书中,他说,中国对于奥运梦想的追逐,始于1908年。当时,一家名为《天津青年》的新闻杂志提出了这样的问题:“什么时候中国才能在自己的土地上举办奥运会?”这个梦想,用了一个世纪方告实现。奥运史上,之前从来没有一个国家像中国这样通过全方位打造自身的方式来欢迎全世界北京2008年奥运会将在全球商业和国际关系方面开创一个新的时代。中国政府以预计达到400亿美元的投入,改变了首都的形象。无论从经济意义上,还是象征意义上说,中国的领导人都把这届奥运会看作是一个变革的机遇。
In his book The Great Olympics, he said that China's pursuit of the Olympic dream began in 1908. Both in the economic and the symbolic terms, Chinese leaders regard this Olympic Games as a chance for change.
