Sigurdur Gudmundsson was born in Reykjavik, Iceland in 1942. In 1963, he moved to Amsterdam to study art and create art shortly. At the time, he was first inspired by “Art of Poverty” and later as a faction of the wave, becoming a representative of the Fluxus in the Nordic countries. His series of “scenes of photography”, his in-depth discussion of individual situations and the characteristics and philosophies he presented were widely known by Gu Mengxun in the early 1970s and his works exhibited in countless museums around the world. The journal extracts an article by Dutch critic Lily van Ginneken and invited Professor Qin Jian from Xiamen University, who is also an artist for many years, to conduct an interview.
