An Indian Athlete Was Disqualified as Olympic Champion in Racial Discrimination Jim Thorpe was born on 28 May 1888 in Oklahoma, U.S.A. The ancestor was said to be a military member of the Sycamore and Fox Indian tribes leader. Jim Thorpe has always had the qualities of athletes, from elementary, middle school to university, he has no competitors in the track and field. Once, Lafayette College invited the recently accomplished Carlisle Indian School Athletics Class to participate in the competition, and those arriving at the train station found that only two were down on the train: one tall and one short. The people at Lafayette College said in surprise: “Do you only have two people to compete with us.” Tall replied:
