洋蓟为上海的特产作物,可作药用、菜用、饲用和观赏用,它的药用经济价值较高,最高亩产值在1300元左右。国内有关洋蓟类型、特性、栽培、留种、综合利用等研究很少。近年来,我们对洋蓟作了一些初步研究,结果如下。一、用途洋蓟原产地中海地区和加那利群岛,目前主要栽培在南欧和美国加利福尼亚州。意大利、法国、西班牙等国每年也有一定量的出口,远销美国和其他国家。我国只在上海作大田栽培,将近有一百年.洋蓟有四种用途:一是食用,洋蓟在国外已有两千多年的栽培史,西菜中洋蓟占有独特的地位。洋蓟的总苞片和花序托为肉质是主食部分。一般将含苞
