在取得执政地位之前,由于工作地需要,中共的党员分为两种:一是公开身份的党员;二是不公开身份的秘密党员。其中知名的如被称为前“龙潭三杰”的李克农、钱壮飞、胡底;后“龙潭三杰”熊向晖、申健、陈忠经;以及白崇禧身边的机要秘书谢和赓等。这些秘密党员和上级都是单线联系,有的直至病逝或牺牲,人们都不知道他是中共党员。
Prior to gaining the ruling position, due to the needs of the work place, there are two types of party members in the CCP: one is an open-member party and the other is a secret party member who is not open to the public.
