女性主义文学的鼻祖夏洛特·帕金斯·吉尔曼的小说《她乡》以一个有别于现实社会的“另外空间”为背景,透过三名具有既定社会偏见的科学家在她乡的遭遇,来检讨传统社会以男性为主体的价值观。同时也构建出女人自理的社会管理机制。本文以叙事学为视角,认为该小说的故事情节,人物塑造,话语展现,和人物视角都是吉尔曼挑战男权,建构女性主体地位的方式。
The originator of feminist literature Charlotte Perkins · Gilman’s novel “her hometown” in a different from the real world “other space ” as the background, through three scientists with established social prejudices in her Township experience, to review the traditional society as the main male values. At the same time, women’s self-care social management mechanism has also been constructed. From the perspective of narratology, this article argues that the novel’s storyline, characterization, discourse display, and character perspective are the ways in which Gilman challenges the patriarchal power and constructs the status of the female subject.
