This paper discusses with the author of the report “Bronze Hoard of the Han Period at jahetun jiaozuo, Henan” published in Huaxia Archaeology (No. 2,1995 ) and proposes that the bronze vessels stored in the hoard don’t belong to the same period and some of them may be later than the Han Dynasty.It is believd that the so-called “weight” and “the balance dish” may have been the arm of a steelyard of the Northern Wei and Jin Dynasties-the earliest known one of they are considered together and compared with the pictures of Cave No. 254 at Mogaoku in Dunhuang.
