《义务教育数学课程标准》指出:“通过义务教育阶段的教学、学习,学生能够获得适应未来社会生活和进一步发展所必需的重要的数学知识(包括数学事实、数学生活经验)以及基本数学思想方法和必要的应用技能……”这表明,数学思想和方法的培育已经纳入新课程标准。郑毓信先生说,对数学思想和方法的突出强调,应当说是数学教育特别是数学课程目标现代演变的一个主要特征。
