At week 17 after taking villus specimens at 9 weeks of gestation, ultrasound scans were diagnosed as upper extremity constriction. Termination of pregnancy, autopsy confirmed limb reduction; other are normal. This article discusses the relationship between limb reduction and amniotic membrane syndrome. The patient was 37 years old and had a birth rate of 3 +0. CVS examination was required because of age and mild mental retardation of unknown causes at age 9 in her first son.
