里石门水库的拦河坝为双曲拱坝,坝高74.3米,坝长265.5米,底宽15.5米,顶宽4米,用横缝将坝体分为21个坝段,沿坝高分成8个灌浆层共110个灌区。为保证坝体形成整体结构,对横缝必须进行封拱灌浆。为此,坝体要进行冷却,使横缝张开度达到最大值,以利于按期封拱灌浆。坝体采用两期冷却,埋管冷却是降温的主要措施。为了降低混凝土入仓温度,采取骨料搭凉棚、洒凉水、料仓底部取料,以及夏天高温时用冰水(约4℃)拌和等辅助措施。
