北京市西城外国语学校创建于1998年,是一所外语教育特色鲜明、综合教育成果斐然的完全中学。学校确立了“把我校办成具有外语特色,促进学生德智体全面发展,面向国际的一流完全中学”的办学目标。校领导一班人敢于实践、勇于创新,不断探寻国内外先进的教育理论,以战略家的胆识鲜明地提出了“和谐发展”的办学指导思想,一直以“为了孩子一生幸福”作为工作指导理念。遵循“稳定中求发展、继承中求创新”的十二字方针,全面育人,强化特色。十几年来,学校各学科综合教育质量一直稳居北京市重点校行列,每年为全国重点大学输送了大批优质毕业生。在执行普通中学课程标准的基础上,我校深化教学改革,注重突出外语教学特色,聘请多名资深外教。在全国外国语学校口语比赛,市、区外语形象展示和重大国际活动中,我校学生曾多次夺魁。鲜明的外语特色,推进了我校国际化办学的进程。目前,我校与澳大利亚、加拿大、法国、韩国、瑞典、英国和美国的7所学校建立了姐妹校关系。2004年12月,英国副首相在我国教育部官员的陪同下来我校考察,
Beijing Xicheng Foreign Language School was established in 1998. It is a complete middle school education with distinctive features and comprehensive educational achievements. The school has established the goal of running our school into a first-rate full secondary school with the characteristics of a foreign language, which promotes the development of the students’ morality, intelligence, and overall development. A group of leaders of the school dared to practice and be brave in innovating. They constantly sought out advanced educational theories at home and abroad, and proposed the guiding ideology of “harmonious development” as a strategist. They have always adopted the concept of “for children’s lifetime happiness”. . We follow the 12-character principle of “striving for stability, seeking innovation through inheritance,” and educate people in an all-round way and strengthen their characteristics. For more than ten years, the quality of comprehensive education in various disciplines of the school has consistently ranked in the ranks of key schools in Beijing, and a large number of high-quality graduates have been sent to key universities nationwide each year. On the basis of the implementation of common secondary school curriculum standards, our school deepens teaching reforms, focuses on highlighting the characteristics of foreign language teaching, and employs a number of senior foreign teachers. In the National Foreign Language School Oral Contest, the City and District Foreign Language Image Display and major international events, the students of our university have won many titles. The distinctive features of foreign languages have promoted the internationalization of our university. Currently, our school has established sister school relationships with seven schools in Australia, Canada, France, South Korea, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. In December 2004, the British Deputy Prime Minister visited our school accompanied by our Ministry of Education officials.
