2004年,是北京航空航天大学学生孙井永大学生活的最后一年,由于表现出色,学校任命他担任04届新生的辅导员,这对于他来说也是一个特殊的经历。近半年的时间孙井永每天都和学生在一起,管理他们的生活起居,对他们进行纪律、学习、人际关系方面的教育。每年的开学,北航都有个传统项目——晨训,就是类似军训的一种训练,历时两周,主要是帮助学生更快地适应学校生活。在晨训期间孙井永经常结合自己的经验给他们讲一些学习,纪律、人际关系方面的内容,这样既拉近了他与学生的距离,也帮助他们尽快适应新生活,因此学生与他的关系都很融洽,这也是让他很引以为豪的地方。
