杰里米·边沁是英国著名的伦理学家,是功利主义思想的奠基人。边沁因功利主义思想而被世人所知,其阐述的功利主义原则,是对古希腊的快乐主义的、英国的经验主义及法国的唯物主义思想的延伸。其功利主义思想,并不是简单的将个人幸福置于崇高的地位,而是一种合理的利己主义思想,阐述了个人利益与集体利益的重要关系,对于人们在处理个人利益和国家利益的关系时,具有重要的指导意义。本文主要从边沁的功利主义的理论组成出发,探究边沁的功利主义在当代社会的积极影响。
Jeremy Bentham, a famous British ethician, is the founder of utilitarianism. Bentham is well known in the world for his utilitarianism. His utilitarian principle expounds the extension of ancient Greek hedonism, British empiricism and French materialism. The idea of utilitarianism does not simply place individual well-being in a sublime position, but rather a rational idea of egoism, which expounds the important relationship between individual interests and collective interests. It is of great value to people’s handling of the relationship between personal interests and national interests When, has important guiding significance. This thesis mainly starts with the theoretical composition of Bentham’s utilitarianism and explores the positive influence of Bentham’s utilitarianism in contemporary society.
