石英砂主要用作玻璃工业和陶瓷工业的原料,市场需求广泛。但其在加工过程中,能够产生大量粉尘,防护不当极易对人体造成伤害,直接影响从业者的生命健康。2009年3月,有媒体报道了云南省水富县向家坝镇赴安徽省凤阳县从事石英砂加工的77人中12人因矽肺病相继死亡的消息。胡锦涛总书记对此高度重视,并作出重要批示,国家安全监管总局迅速做出反应,在我国主要石英砂产地开展石英砂加工企业的检测与职业健康现状的调查,并形成调研报告。
Quartz sand is mainly used for glass industry and ceramic industry raw materials, the market demand is broad. However, during the processing, it can produce a large amount of dust, and improper protection can easily cause harm to the human body and directly affect the life and health of practitioners. In March 2009, some media reported that 12 of 77 people who went to Fengyang County, Anhui Province, Xiangjiaba Town, engaged in quartz sand processing, had successively died of silicosis. General Secretary Hu Jintao attaches great importance to this and made important instructions. The State Administration of Work Safety responded promptly to investigate the status quo of quartz sand processing enterprises and their occupational health status in major quartz sand producing areas in China and formed a research report.
