艺术家不擅长隐瞒。艺术家追求的境界是要人的心,这需要他自己先付出心灵的能量。他假如不爱就很难蒙蔽自己真实的感觉,他必须敏锐地找到他之所爱。商人不喜欢暴露。商人需要情绪相对的稳定,尽管对方使他讨厌得要命,但还要作出友善的自嘲,让人感觉到他的善意。艺术家习惯说他自己相信的东西,商人习惯说令别人相信的东西。艺术家在动脑之前先动情,商人在动情之前先动容。商人的微笑都有一些代价在后面,他讲求功效,利益鲜明,这是做惯了“白日梦”的艺术家力所不能及的。艺术家是物质生命多少有些匮乏的动物,心理上或者生理上,他需要通过精神的创造来挣脱这种于物质生命的匮乏感。
