铁路运输处鹿楼站是鹤大铁路与矿区专用铁路,而且是电厂专用线的运输枢纽站,由于该站场处于八矿采煤下沉区,长距离的信号电缆很可能下沉而变形拉断,该站场无法采用电气集中控制。站场内的14号道岔用于连接到发线和安全线,根据《铁路技术管理规程》的有关规定,该道岔平时应该开通安全线方向。由于鹿楼站电煤运量很大,加上调车作业等因素,该道岔1天需要扳动几十次,因而14号道岔
