According to the reported catches by country and region, the top 50 catches in 1992 are shown in Table 1. The catch of the top 20 major species is shown in Table 2. As can be seen from the table, there are only China in the catchment volume exceeding 10 million tons, exceeding 15 million tons (excluding Taiwan Province). Ranked second in Japan, catches have dropped below 9 million t.
