晚清粤民的异域书写有着显著的时代印记,国家民族的危亡迫使处于东西方接触前沿的广东知识分子离开故国向西方寻求救国救民之道。随着出洋粤人对当时时局环境了解的不断加深,身负救国使命的出洋粤人开始经历从单纯的西方文化的观察者到自身文化现实的反思者的角色转换。而他们的反思亦最终开启了中国人“走向世界”的现代化进程。
In the late Qing Dynasty, the exotic writing of Yuemin had a remarkable imprint of the times. The peril of the national nation forced the Guangdong intellectuals at the forefront of East-West contact to leave the homeland to seek the salvation of the nation and the nation by the West. As foreigners in Guangdong gradually deepened their understanding of the current situation and environment, foreigners who were shouldering the mission of saving the nation began to experience the transition from simple observers of Western culture to reflectors of their own cultural reality. Their reflections eventually opened the way for the Chinese to “go global”.
