The Yellow Sea is a land-surface shallow sea basin that has been drowning in after the ice age. It is a stable sedimentary center accepting the supply of debris from land masses such as China and North Korea in terms of geological structure. Its vast western part contains fine-grained sediments supplied mainly by rivers in China, while its narrow eastern part contains coarse-grained sediments mainly from the Korean peninsula.
